The whale shark is a shark, not a whale. Its name refers to the whale shark's impressive size and unique feeding habits. It normally feeds on or just below the surface by filtering small planktonic organisms out of the water through its baleen (a built-in hair-like structure replacing teeth).
Whale sharks are viviparous animals and babies are often seen with their mothers.

Whale Shark Tour from Cozumel and Playa del Carmen
To enjoy this incredible tour "Swim with the Whale Sharks from Cozumel and Riviera Maya" we provide the daily transportation service between the first of june until the 15 th of September from any hotel of Tulum, Cozumel, Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen.
The price of 185 usd per person includes round trip transportation from your hotel in Tulum, Cozumel, Riviera Maya or Playa del Carmen to Holbox Island, coffee break and briefing of the tour, box lunch with drinks on the boat during the tour, all the snorkel equipment and buffet lunch after the tour in the beach restaurant of the hotel Faro Viejo in Isla Holbox.
The price does not include any drink during the buffet lunch.
The tour starts around 6 am when a luxury Wagon van will pick you up at the lobby of your hotel in Tulum, Riviera Maya or Playa del Carmen. For our clients from Cozumel the pick up will be at 5.30 am on the federal dock of Playa del Carmen, our clients will have to take the first ferry that leaves Cozumel at 5 am.
The return time will be after your lunch in Holbox Island and you will be back at your hotel around 6 pm after having spent an exceptional day and an unforgettable experience for you and your family in Holbox Island.
